Obituary

Linda Garcia Polanco of Seguin, Texas was welcomed to her Heavenly Home on December 31, 2019 at the age of 86. She was born in Seguin, Texas to Pedro Garcia and Lilia Rios Garcia on August 22, 1933 and raised by her loving Aunts and Uncles.

Linda is preceded in death by both of her parents; her loving husband, Jose Polanco Sr.; her six month old daughter, Leticia Polanco; a brother, Jose Garcia Sr. of San Antonio; Step sons, Narciso Polanco, Pedro Polanco, Geronimo Polanco and Step daughter Julia Gaitan; and numerous Aunts and Uncles.

Left to cherish and honor her memory are her daughters, Lillian Valdez and husband Tony and Cynthia Polanco; Beloved Grandson, Noah Rosas; two sisters, Estella Rocha and Elia G. Valdez; two step sons, Jose M. Polanco and Jose Polanco Jr.; her Comadre and friend, Esther M. Valdez; her loving and caring adopted daughter, Marcelina “Merci” Martinez; Numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and dear friends at Eden Cross Apartments where she lived for many years.

Having lived a truck driver’s life all over the country for many years, Linda and Jose finally settled in Floydada, Texas a small town in the Panhandle of Texas where they raised their girls while farming and ranching.  In her later years living in Seguin, she became an avid Bingo player and kept her mind sharp by working Sudoku puzzles, sewing, knitting, quilting and creating many wonderful keepsakes with arts & crafts. Of all the titles she wore in life though, MOM was the one she was most proud of.  Later she became NANA to her beloved Noah.  She was a devoted mother who loved, protected, and supported her family and friends.  Her faith in God was an example of abounding grace and unconditional love. Her legacy will continue to live on in all the lives she touched through her life journey on earth.

Serving as Pallbearers for our beloved Mom will be Joe M. Polanco and Tony Valdez.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Noah Rosas.
