Allan E. Henry (1950-2025)
Allan Eugene Henry passed away on May 8, 2025 in Seguin, Texas after a long fight with illness. Allan was born in 1950 to Homer and Christel Henry in Munich, Germany. Allan grew up a world traveler spending his early years in Germany and France before settling in Texas. Allan graduated from Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz and Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. He then embarked on a long career in the oil industry, working for 20 years at the Exxon Refinery in Baytown, and later, at the Exxon Headquarters in Houston. Later, Allan undertook a second career as a civilian fuel specialist at Al-Taji Airbase and Al-Asad Airbase, Iraq.
Allan will be remembered for his unique view on life and the many interesting stories of his youthful misadventures in Europe and in South Texas. He did things his own way. He loved to work on his Porsche 911, his tractors, and all the little things around in home in Seguin. He loved spoiling the dogs and cats in his life with the finest turkey and ham he could buy. He spoke French and German fluently. He was also an avid fitness buff who did CrossFit well past the age of 70.
Allan was predeceased by his parents, Homer and Christel Henry, both of Seguin, and his sister Kathy Atkinson of Baytown. He is survived by his beloved sister Linda Howard of San Antonio. Allan collected many lifelong friends through his journey—special mention should be made to Jaimi, David and Brooklyn, who motivated him and kept him young at heart, and lifelong friends Pete, Tom, Judy, Bernard, and many others.
Special thanks also go out to his caregivers Melanie, Gloria, Adrianne who took care of him during his final illness.
No memorial services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Guadalupe County Humane Society, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
