Alvina Tijerina

Alvina Lopez Tijerina, known to many as, "Mrs. T" and "Grandma T," entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 21, 2017 in Seguin, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family, at the age of 90. She was born in Pearson, Texas on December 16, 1926, to parents, Carmen and Concepcion Lopez.

She was raised in San Antonio, Texas. She moved to San Marcos, Texas in the early 60's to begin the next chapter in her family's life, Tijerina's Tortilla Factory. In the late 70's they moved to Seguin, Texas to add an addition to the established business and settled in Seguin to call home.

She is preceded in death by her husband Alejandro G. Tijerina, and her children Marcela Tijerina, Ralph Tijerina, Alejandro T. Tijerina, Robert L. Tijerina, Daniel L. Tijerina and Carlos L. Tijerina.

Survivors include her children, Lucia Diaz, Ernesto Tijerina, and Alicia Tijerina; 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, sister, Mary Lopez, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (409 Krezdorn St. Seguin, Texas 78155) on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Santo Tomas Cemetery.
