Anselma "Emma" Mendoza

Anselma (Emma) Mendoza was called by the Lord December 26th, 2025. She was born on May 20th 1944 to Librado and Maria Juarez in New Braunfels, Tx.  

On April 21st 1963 she married Billy Sampley in Lawton Oklahoma where they raised 5 children and were married for 30yrs. During her time in Lawton she was an active member of the community, she was a member of the PTA, the booster club, a Girl Scouts troop leader with her children from brownies to cadets, she also coached softball. She was the neighborhood Mom, many children came to her home for advice and support. Some just looking for a hug. Her door was always open to anyone who needed anything.  She loved selling Avon ,hosting Tupperware parties, and being the head seamstress at the community theater.  

In 1989 she moved to Texas later marrying Toribio Mendoza and was married 30yrs until his death this past September.  She was preceded in death by her parents Librado and Maria Juarez, brothers Librado Juarez II, Joe Juarez, and Raymond Juarez. Her husband Toribio Mendoza and Her beloved daughter Pamela Sampley in May of 2025.  

She is survived by her children Diana Sampley, Brenda Bender, Cynthia Washburn and Billy Sampley(Sonia). 15 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren 9 great great grandchildren. Because of her love she is responsible for 73 descendants. Also survived by her 6 stepchildren and grandchildren, her siblings Rudy Juarez and wife Annie, Esther Pina and husband Lupe, sisters in laws Jaqueline Juarez and Mary Juarez , numerous nieces and nephews who loved her.  She was greatly loved and will be forever missed. 

The family will receive condolences at Palmer Mortuary on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 4pm to 8pm. A memorial service will begin at 7pm. All services will conclude Friday evening.
