I am writing to share the news of the passing of Antonio Valdez Hernandez, Jr., who passed away on September 25, 2026. He was born on December 2, 1948, to Antonio and Carmen Hernandez.

Antonio is survived by his sisters, Dora Guerrero and Tina Cuellar; his daughter, Michelle Hernandez; his son, Mark Hernandez; as well as 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Norma Jean Brummet.

Known fondly as Tony (or Dad), he was a man who truly valued life and celebrated every moment with generosity, kindness, and gratitude. He brought joy through his storytelling, sense of humor, and the wisdom he gained through experience. Tony didn't chase life; he flowed with it, appreciating every moment and person around him.

He was a man of many talents. He built homes with his own hands, giving his family places to cherish. As a recording artist, he made music that reached the Billboard charts, and as a local business owner of clubs like Prime Time and Stallion, he entertained his community. In his free time, he loved playing music, a game of pool or darts, and betting on horses at Retama—making lifelong friends along the way. Most importantly, he gave God the glory every morning, thanking Him on his knees for each day and striving to be a true friend to others.

Thank you, Dad/Grandpa/Popo/Tony, for your love, your lessons, and your lasting legacy. We hold these cherished memories in our hearts until we see you again in eternity.
