Arturo Martinez Sr.

Arturo R. Martinez, Husband, Father, Brother and Grandfather (Welo) went home to Our Lord on April 2, 2018. Arturo was born on August 28, 1949 in Ricardo, Texas to Jesus Martinez, Sr. and Julia (Reyna) Martinez. He married Ana Maria (Chavera) Martinez on January 22, 1966 in Kingsville, Texas. He worked as a custodian at Texas Lutheran University for 23 years.

He is preceded in death by both parents; brother Ruben Martinez; and sons Arnoldo Martinez, Sr. and Alex C. Martinez.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years Ana Maria Martinez; children Arturo Martinez, Jr.; Samuel Martinez, Sr. (Yolanda); Michael Martinez (Sandra); Belinda Aguillon (Marco); Cynthia Ann Martinez and grandchildren he raised as his own Mariah C. Wallace; Jasiah A. Martinez and Chelsey R. Martinez; siblings Jesus Martinez, Carlos Martinez, Robert Martinez, Consuelo Martinez, Hermelinda Martinez and Mary Robertson; as well as sister-in-law Sonja Martinez and daughter-in-law Maribel Martinez; 24 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Saturday April 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the San Geronimo Cemetery.
