Carmel Perez passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. He was born on July 16, 1925 to Porfirio Perez and Refugia Zavala. Carmel will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

Carmel was preceded in death by his parents, Porfirio Perez and Refugia Zavala Perez; brother, Martin Perez and sisters, Juana Perez, Juanita Perez and Lupe Perez and one niece Maria Sonia Perez. He is survived by his niece, Maria Silvia Rangel and husband Francisco Rangel, Jr.; great nieces, Alissa Rangel, Laura Rangel and Marissa Points and husband Tyler Points; and a great-great nephew, Maddox Points.

Services honoring Carmel will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the Holy Rosary recited at 10:00 a.m. and the Funeral Mass celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.
