On May 5, 2025, the world lost a remarkable man, Dickie Rangel Rositas, at the age of 78 in Gonzales, Texas. Born on February 12, 1947, in Austin, Texas, Dickie lived a private and quite life rich in love, laughter, and an unwavering passion for his craft as a master carpenter. His dedication to his work was recognized by many, earning him respect and admiration from both colleagues and clients alike.

Dickie was more than just a talented carpenter; he had a personality that lit up any room he entered. He was a devoted San Antonio Spurs fan, and his enthusiasm for the team was contagious. Evenings were often filled with the joy of watching games alongside friends and family, with his favorite ritual being the enjoyment of two Coors beers after a hard day's work. He had a soft spot for western movies, reveling in their timeless tales of heroism and adventure.

Family was at the heart of Dickie's existence, and he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren. Whether it was sharing laughter over a plate of tacos—his daily delight—or listening to the vibrant sounds of tejano and lowrider music, he found immense joy in nurturing the bonds that mattered most to him. He also enjoyed spending time with his coworkers, creating lasting friendships that went beyond the workplace.

He is survived by his beloved children, Tina Rositas Martinez and husband Mike, Rick Rositas, and Jennifer Ann Rositas Fonseca. His legacy continues through his adoring grandchildren, Favian Andrew Urias III and wife Ronna, SSG Alexander Urias, Joshua Urias and wife Cynthia, Carlos Ramone Rositas, Marianna Janelle De La Fuente, Lileanna Marie De La Fuente, Ava Nicole De La Fuente, Sarius Alakyi Fonseca and Azayla Willow Martinez. The joy of his life will also be carried on by his great-grandchildren, Starlee Drew, Sunny Knight, Aubrey Alexandria, Journey Royalty, Joaquin Cole, and Penelope Sage. His siblings, Roy Rositas and wife Noelia, Dora Rositas Ramirez and husband Roberto, Deacon Edward Rositas and wife Lupe, Lupe Rositas and wife Delfina and Julie Rositas Salinas and husband Louis; sister-in-law Dora Rositas, brother-in-law Adam Castro as well as numerous nieces, nephew and extended family and friends.

Dickie is preceded in death by his cherished parents, Juan and Romana Rositas, and his beloved wife, Guadalupe Rositas, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Cpl. Johnny Rositas and sister, Anna Rositas Castro.
