Doris Mcdaniel

V. Dorselle "Doris" McDaniel, of La Vernia, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018. She was born in Waelder, Texas on April 12, 1933 to Barbara and Thomas P. Childers.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Morris E. McDaniel, daughter: Margaret Steubing, parents, and 8 siblings.

Survivors include her children: Douglas McDaniel, Sr., and Wesley McDaniel; grandchildren: April Seward, Sammy Morris, Tracie Olvera, Douglas McDaniel, Jr., Tina Marie Mendler, Wesley John McDaniel and Jessica McDaniel; 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Doris was a full time wife and mother until her later years when she worked at Motorola where her husband also worked as a security guard. Doris spoke fondly about her time there and the numerous people she met. Doris was somewhat reserved and preferred allowing her husband and children to shine. She proudly displayed lots of pictures of her loved ones for all to see. Her Chihuahua, Bebe, was her constant companion. She spent her time speaking to her friends and family on the phone, watching the Gaithers or the gameshow network and doing jigsaw puzzles. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. (services will conclude at the cemetery).
