Esperanza Arrieta

Esperanza "Ama" Chavez Arrieta, of Seguin, passed away on Monday, February 06, 2017 at the age of 92. She was born in San Diego, Texas on July 30, 1924 to Inez (Barcena) and Francisco Chavez.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Carmen Valdez and Fortino Chavez, and daughter, Victoria Perales.

Survivors include her daughters, Yolanda Garcia and husband Umberto Jimenez and Maria O. Macias and husband Jose; grandchildren, Daniel, Dan, David, Julie, Beatrice Ismael, Isaiah and Isaac Garcia, Dahlia De La Cruz, Dolores Stewart, Diana Cowey and Inelda Anderson, Maria Teresa Castilleja, Valerie De La Garza, Gabriella Montoya and Michelle Knoll; sister, Maria Louisa Valdez, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

Ama, was an unselfish and loving person. Known as a great caregiver, she took care of many children in her lifetime. She also showed how much she cared by feeding those she loved. She will be truly missed by those that knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service to be officiated by Pastor Juan Cavasos at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Bethel Cladic Church, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial contributions be made to the church that she was very faithful to and loved, Bethel Cladic Church, 726 W. Kingsbury, Seguin, TX 78155.
