Esperanza Leal

Esperanza "Hope" Montoya Leal, of Seguin, passed away at her home, surrounded by family on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the age of 74. She was born in Geronimo, Texas to Celestino and Dominga "Mini" (Gonzales) Montoya.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Joe Montoya.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years Teodoro Gutierrez, children, Carmen Magallanez, Rosa Vigil and husband David, Cindy Leija and husband Leo, Linda Cardona and husband Gilbert, Steve Leal and wife Maria and Patrick Leal and wife MaryAnn; 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Hope, enjoyed sightseeing, shopping at thrift stores, and had a great sense of humor. She loved spending time with her family and was very supportive of them all, always willing to be of help whenever they needed. She was immensely loved by those that knew her and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.

Active Pall Bearers will be, Joey Hernandez, Bobby Hernandez, Rene Castillo, Mark Barron, Leo Leija and Josh Herrera.
