Eugene “Fritz” Abrameit
Eugene Fritz Abrameit, lovingly known as Fritz, passed away August 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Fritz was born on January 5, 1951, in Seguin, Texas, to Fritz Fred Abrameit and Mary L. Volmar. On June 7, 1972, he married the love of his life, Delores Ann Patek. Together, they built a life filled with family, friendship, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
For many years, Fritz worked as a butcher, and many people fondly remember visiting him at Dyess Market. He was a man of few words, but he never needed many to make a lasting impression. Fritz enjoyed spending time with friends, sharing good times, and going dancing.
But his greatest passion—other than his family—was being outdoors with a fishing pole in hand. Whether casting a line, swapping stories, or simply enjoying nature, he found peace and happiness in those simple moments.
Fritz’s family was the greatest joy of his life. He adored his grandchildren, who affectionately knew him as “Pauzie,” and he was especially proud to have spent the last four years as an active and loving presence in the lives of his great-granddaughters.
Fritz was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Jacob Abrameit, August Abrameit, Richard Abrameit, Donald Abrameit, Josephine Wahl, Dorothy Johnson, and his infant twin sister; and his in-laws, Charles and Viola Patek, Pat and Rose Patek, and Edmund Patek.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Delores; his children, Angie (Darren) Kleinschmidt, Shelly (Thomas) Jones, and Wesley Abrameit; his beloved grandchildren, Chelsea (Kelly) Rose, Kendall (Hunter) Cole, Katlyn (Lizehiah) Jones, Chance (Sara) Brewster, and Thomas Jones; and his cherished great-granddaughters, Konnor Rose and Averie Cole, who brought him so much joy. He is also survived by his siblings Mary Barry, Betty Luedecke (James), Roy Abrameit (Irene) and brother-in-law Leonard Patek (Kathy).
Fritz was a simple man who never wanted a fuss. More than anything, he loved being surrounded by the people he cared about. In keeping with who he was, his family will honor him with a Celebration of Life rather than a traditional service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you spend time doing something Fritz loved. Enjoy the outdoors, gather with friends and family, and make a memory in his honor. If you are able, take a child or grandchild on an outdoor adventure and share the simple joy that Fritz found in everyday life’s moments.
Fritz may have been a man of few words, but the love he had for his family, friends, and the simple pleasures of life spoke volumes. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew him.
