Eusebio J. Saenz Sr. of Seguin, Texas was called home to the Lord on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the age of 80. He was born to Feliciano “Chano” Saenz Sr. and Francisca Jimenez Saenz on March 5, 1940 in Seguin, Texas.
Eusebio had a very strong work ethic; he began at a young age picking cotton. He then learned his cooking skills at Randolph Air force Base. He and his father began picking up garbage in his Ford pickup truck in the rural areas. His hard work paid off and he then built his business. He named it “Saenz Sanitation Service Inc.” It consisted of residential. Commercial and waste pick up in the early 80’s. He finished his career driving with Ingram Ready Mix.
Eusebio was selfless and so mindful of everyone. He always wanted to make sure that no one struggled with food, money or love. He was always there to make sure that there was food on the table for his family. He was full of love and compassion and he never wanted anyone to be alone. All he wanted in life was for everyone around him to be happy. Just hearing the sound of his laugh when he cracked a joke would make you laugh. “Ee-ho-ho haha”…so contagious. He never was shy, he told you very boldly how it was, no holding back. On his downtime he would get in the kitchen and make his famous Guadalupe County 1st place peace praline candy or his 2nd place pecan pie. If you ever were at his house and he was cooking, I’m pretty sure he had you try his “Mountain Oysters” but he told you it was chicken LOL. We all got tricked with that one.
He was known by many as “Fifty” or “Chevo” but to us he was Dad or Grandpa. He truly had a heart of gold and he will live on through us and our precious memories. He raised us all to be strong, hardworking individuals and to love your mother. We are very proud of him. May you rest in peace Daddy, we love and will miss you so very much!
Eusebio is preceded in death by his Mother and Father; his brothers, Elogio Saenz, Jose “Coy” Saenz, Felix Saenz Jr., Domingo "Mingo" Saenz Sr. and sister, Mary L. Gonzales.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 58 years of marriage, Angelina L. Saenz; children, Esther S. Young and husband Joe Young III, Yolanda Saenz, Eusebio J. Saenz Jr. and Lupe Ramirez; grandchildren, Joe Anthony Young IV, Samuel Ryan Young, Luis J. Ramon Jr., Eusebio Caiden Saenz III and Evan Michael Perez; great-grandchildren, Cassius Lou Ramon, Calyanna Lyn Ramon and Wyatt Sifford; his brothers, Jesse Saenz and Juan Saenz and sister, Margaret Flores. Eusebio is further survived by numerous cousins and extended family and friends.
