Gaylord Wayne Lorenz

Gaylord Wayne Lorenz, 78, passed away on December 21, 2025. He was born on September 21, 1947, in Luling, Texas, to Leslie Anton Lorenz Sr. and Wanda Lea Goble.

He grew up in Kingsbury, Texas, in his family home on Guadalupe Street, a place that always felt like home because of the people who lived in it. That same sense of home now surrounds him again, as he is reunited with his mother and father, whom he loved deeply.

Gaylord worked for the City of Seguin for over 20 years before retiring. He never met a stranger and was known for always having a smile on his face. In retirement, he devoted himself to his grandchildren and proudly embraced his role as “Papa,” a title he carried with great pride. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family.

Gaylord is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Anton Lorenz Sr. and Wanda Lea Goble; his son, Brandon Wayne Lorenz; and numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his children, Trey Lorenz (Brad Murdock) and Donna Lorenz-Eckols (Jesse Eckols); his brother, Leslie Lorenz Jr. (Susie Lorenz); his grandchildren, Jenna Bowman (Zachary Bowman), Emily Jacobs (Zachary Jacobs), Jadyn Eckols, Riley Eckols, and Clayten Eckols; and his great-grandchildren, Rhett and Kassandra Bowman, Paetyn and Copelynn Jacobs, and Tinsley, Rossyn, and Daxtyn Walton.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Palmer Mortuary from 12pm to 3pm. All services will conclude in the Palmer Mortuary chapel.
