George Mendoza

George Garcia Mendoza, of New Braunfels, received his wings on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the age of 60. He was born in Seguin, Texas on January 31, 1957 to Alfredo and Maria (Garcia) Mendoza.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his children, Georgina Marie Mendoza and companion Ike McHaney, George Mendoza, Jr., and wife Syliva; step-son, Gabriel Perez, grandchildren, Saul Chavez, Jr., Regina Rosas Chavez, Andrew Santos Chavez, Skylar Rey Mendoza, Aubree Roxanne Mendoza and Hailey Lynn Mendoza; siblings, Ruben G. Mendoza, Sr., and wife Dawn, Alfredo "Fred" Mendoza, Jr., and wife Isabel Mendoza, Manuel Mendoza, Sr., Mary Lou Mendoza, Rita M. Casarez and husband Juan, Anita Mendoza and Teresa Mendoza; long-time companion, Delia Gomez, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. (services will conclude in the church).

George was a respectful, giving, helpful to others, and a hard-working man; learning many trades over the years. He was always determined to learn, succeed and prosper. Growing up in New Berlin, George considered Seguin his home; enjoying the outdoor, country life, he was a modern cowboy. He will be missed dearly by those that knew and loved him, especially his baby girl, Gina Marie and brother, Ruben Mendoza, Sr.
