Obituary

Gervasio "Bacho" G. Gonzales, born on June 19, 1935, in Seguin, Texas, peacefully passed away on May 17, 2026, in his beloved hometown of Seguin surrounded by his beloved family. A man whose life was marked by hard work, faith, and love for family, Bacho leaves behind a warm legacy cherished by all who knew him.

Throughout his working years, he showed dedication and versatility. He began his career at a mill in New Braunfels, later becoming a salesman, and eventually spent his final working days as a truck driver before retiring. His years of labor were a testament to his strong work ethic and adaptability.

He was a practicing Catholic and proudly part of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church community. His faith was central to his life, and he generously gave his time to assist in ACTS retreats, supporting the spiritual growth of others with kindness and commitment.

Known as a jack of all trades, Bacho had a special love for his family that shone brightly throughout his life. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Teresa R. Gonzales, who stood by his side through every chapter of their long journey together. Their children—Rosalinda Simonson (Dennis), Sylvia Gonzales, Gervasio Raymundo Gonzales Jr. (Rosemary), Christina Coday, and Carlos Rene Gonzales (Michelle)—carry forward his strength and spirit. Bacho’s joy expanded with 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, each holding a treasured place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gregoria and Antonio Gonzales, who no doubt helped shape the values he held dear. He also joins in rest with beloved grandchildren Christy Ann Gonzales and Paul Gonzales; sisters Belia Gonzales, Elisa Rodriguez, Teresa Garcia; and brothers Antonio Gonzales, Ruben Gonzales, and Fernando Gonzales.

Gervasio "Bacho" G. Gonzales lived a life full of love, faith, and hard work. His memory will remain a gentle light in the hearts of his family and community. May he rest peacefully.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church starting at 9:30am and a memorial mass will follow at 10am.
