Gilbert Garza Sr.

Gilbert Chavez De La Garza, Sr., of Seguin, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the age of 72. He was born in Seguin, Texas on March 23, 1946 to Isabel (Chavez) and Hilario De La Garza.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy and parents.

Survivors include his children, Patty Gomez (Irwin), Gilbert, Jr., (Denise), Crystal Parra (Lorenzo), and Aida Cuellar; grandchildren, Irwin, II, Matthew, Chris, Oliver and Carlos Gomez, Elena Shelby and Chloe De La Garza, Lorenzo, Walker and Isabella Parra; siblings, Raul Sassenhagen and Marissa Burill; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., by the Deacon Nick Carrillo. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., with the Burial to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Cemetery.
