Grace Felker

October 17, 1931 — December 1, 2018

Grace Felker, loving mother and grandmother, went home with our Lord on Saturday December 1, 2018.

Grace was born on October 17,1931 to Marcelle and Joseph Barton in Maspeth - Queens, New York. As a first-generation born in the United States, she grew up fluently speaking Lithuanian and embracing the Lithuanian and Italian cultures she was surrounded by every day. She loved to tell stories about her family growing up and the hours spent with her family on her Grandparent's farm.
Grace married Donald Felker on February 12, 1950 and became a Navy wife, and mother. Leaving her family in New York, Grace found herself traveling all over the United States, and lovingly told of her adventures in Guam. She had a very outgoing personality and made friends everywhere she went.

When Don retired from the Navy, he and Grace opened restaurants in Alice, Beeville, and finally coming to Seguin in 1970. They raised seven beautiful children and opened the King Bee Grill on Kingsbury St. After the restaurant closed in the early to mid-70's, Grace took on several jobs outside of the home, including serving as hostess at the Holiday Inn. There she met many people and told stories of the celebrities that would pass through.

Holidays were always Grace's favorite times, and she would prepare elaborate meals and decorate down to the tiniest detail. There was never a stranger, only new friends to meet, and her door was always open to anyone who came by to visit. She loved cooking, and always made sure to send people away with big plates of leftovers so they would have something for later. She even prepared extra stockings or Easter baskets in case her children brought a friend, so they would not feel left out.
Nine years ago Grace suffered a massive stroke and her life changed drastically, but that did not stop her from spending lots of time with her children and grandchildren, singing and making crafts, and just loving us as she always did.

Grace is now reunited with her mother and father, her brother Jimmy and sister Eleanor, her loving husband Donald, her daughter Marcelle, her daughter Donna, and her son-in-law David Oetken.
Grace is survived by her son Joseph Felker and wife Debra, her daughter Anne Oetken, her daughter Eleanor McMurren and her husband Richard, her daughter Kimberly Reeb and her husband Terry, and her daughter Tammy Ranft and her husband Darryl. Grace is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at the Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at the San Geronimo Cemetery on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
