Ignacio Hernandez

Ignacio "Nachito" Hernandez, of Seguin, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the age of 83. He was born in Guadalupe County, Texas on February 12, 1934 to Catarino and Estefana (Barrera) Hernandez.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Antonio Hernandez and wife Carmen, Catarino Hernandez Jr., and wife Elvira, Luciano Hernandez, Frank Hernandez, Alejandro Hernandez, Estella Valdez and husband Jose, Anita Gonzales and husband Arturo, Maggie Tijerina and husband Rudy, and Adela Arce and husband Eliseo.

Survivors include his brother, Robert Hernandez and wife Ninfa, sisters in law, Gloria and Dolores Hernandez; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Nachito was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed drinking beer, playing the accordion, singing and fishing. He never stayed in one place too long and was well known for walking around Seguin, especially the downtown area.

The Hernandez Family will greet the public on Monday, May, 22, 2017 at Palmer Mortuary Chapel from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and a Funeral Mass will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209) in which military honors will be rendered.
