Jaime (James) Medrano Ramos, beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, and devoted member of his community, passed away on December 14th, 2023, at the age of 55. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that touched the lives of all who knew him.
Born on January 7th, 1968, in San Antonio, Texas to Raynol and Dolores Ramos, Jaime grew up surrounded by a tight-knit family. He cherished his humble upbringing and was proud of his small town, Seguin.
In 1987, he graduated from Seguin High School. Jaime wasproud to be a Matador! He went on to earn an HVAC certification from St. Phillips College in 2009.
Throughout his career, Jaime worked in various fields including industrial and metal fabrication. However, it was his tenure of over 15 years at SMCISD HVAC Maintenance that brought him immense fulfillment.
An astute family man, Jaime found solace and joy in the presence of his loved ones. He treasured his role as a father and grandfather above all else. The beaming smile on his face whenever he spoke about his children and grandchildren was infectious. His granddaughters held a particularly special place in his heart. Their laughter echoed through his memories.
With a love for the outdoors coursing through his veins, Jaime often sought refuge along the calm shores of the San Marcos River. Nature provided him with much-needed solace and rejuvenation in moments of introspection. A true culinary artist, he seamlessly combined his passion for cooking and his love for others. It was not uncommon to find Jaime inviting everyone around to taste-test his latest culinary creation, always accompanied by a heartfelt smile.
Jaime's vivacious personality and warm spirit made him the life of any party. His thoughtfulness, kindness, and generosity endeared him to all who crossed his path. His infectious sense of humor brought laughter wherever he went. There was never a dull moment in Jaime's presence as he effortlessly lit up a room. A true testament to his character was his eagerness to lead prayers before meals, infusing each gathering with a sense of gratitude and reflection.
Jaime's peers often marveled at his culinary prowess, but it was his selfless and caring nature that truly defined him as a friend. He had an innate ability to uplift those around him with genuine compliments and unwavering support. To know Jaime was to experience unwavering friendship and unwavering kindness.
While Jaime's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, we take solace in the memories he left behind. The values he instilled in each person fortunate enough to have known him will continue to ripple through their lives.
The loving memory of Jaime Medrano Ramos will be honored at various services and gatherings. Visitation will take place on December 20th, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Palmer Mortuary & Cremations in Seguin, Texas. A beautiful prayer service will follow at 7:00 PM on the same day.
On December 21st, 2023, at 10:00 AM, a Mass will be held in honor of Jaime's life at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Seguin, Texas. Thereafter, a solemn interment ceremony will take place at San Geronimo Cemetery on W Walnut St in Seguin, Texas at 11:15 AM.
Jaime's proudest accomplishments were rooted in his deep devotion to his faith. He was an active member of the Seguin ACTS community and served on the St. James Life Teen team for many years. In addition, Jaime and his beloved wife Elaine were members of the LOVESTRONG marriage ministry team at Saints Peter and Paul church in New Braunfels.
In addition to his loving wife Elaine, Jaime is survived by his sons Johnathan Sealey, Christian Ramos, and James Sealey Ramos Jr. (spouse: Tiara Bruns), his daughter Gabriella Ramos (spouse: Caleb Rios), and his cherished granddaughters Sophia Rodriguez, Alayah Rae Ramos, Brooklyn Rios, and Braelynn Rios. His brothers Demetrio “Lee” Lomas (deceased), Adam Lomas, Manuel Leos, Raynol Ramos Jr., and Fernando Medrano will forever carry Jaime's memory in their hearts. Jaime was fortunate to have a circle of close friends who became family along the way.
Allen and Wade Carter held a special place in his heart. The Sealey family embraced him as one of their own flesh and blood. His close cousins Gilbert Garza and Rene Rodriguez shared countless memories with him, alongside numerous other cousins who will remember him fondly.
The impact of Jaime's life extended far beyond blood relations and immediate circles. His SCC brothers in Christ, Grapevine Fellowship family, ACTS family, Life Teen family, LOVESTRONG family, SMCISD family, and numerous other friends, family, and acquaintances were touched by his unwavering spirit.
As we bid farewell to our dear Jaime Medrano Ramos, let us carry forward the love he so generously shared with all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may no longer be physically present amongst us, his spirit will forever guide us through life's triumphs and challenges.
