Seguin, Texas

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Janie G. Sanchez, a cherished matriarch whose love resonated through every season of her life. Born on July 30, 1943, in the quaint town of Bastrop, Texas, Janie graced this world with kindness and warmth until her peaceful departure on December 2, 2025, in Seguin, Texas.

For over 30 years, Janie dedicated herself as a real estate agent, helping countless residents find their perfect homes. Her career was not just a profession, but a passion—a means through which she transformed dreams into reality, welcoming families with open arms. Amidst her many achievements, it was her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend that defined her legacy.

Janie’s spirit was luminous, embracing all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her evening walks through the neighborhood reflected her genuine love for her community; each step was an opportunity to forge connections and cultivate joy in the simple act of sharing life with her neighbors. Those moments highlighted her deep appreciation for relationships, reminding everyone that love is woven into the fabric of everyday life.

Her love for family was boundless—an unbreakable thread that tied her to her husband of 67 wonderful years, Joe Diaz Sanchez. Together, they created a home where laughter and love flourished. Janie delighted in the holidays, fully immersing herself in the spirit of Christmas and Thanksgiving. She possessed a gift for decorating, transforming her home into a haven where family gathered, shared stories, and created cherished memories.

As a devoted mother, Janie nurtured her children, Patricia Pehl, Chris Sanchez (Denise), and Michael Sanchez, instilling in them values of compassion and connection. Her role as a grandmother brought her immense joy, as she cherished every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren—Julie, Justin, Presley, Ethan, Daniella, and Anthony Michael. Her love is a treasure ingrained in their hearts, a beacon that will guide them through life's journey.

Janie is lovingly remembered by her siblings: Robert Galvan, Guadalupe Galvan Jr. (Jackie), Ricky Galvan, Bertha Rosas, Dorothy Flores (Isaac), and Sandra Moore, each one a piece of her vibrant tapestry. She was preceded in death by her dear parents, Dominga and Guadalupe Galvan, and her brother, Gilbert Galvan, whose presence she carried in her heart.

Surrounded by the love of her family, Janie departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire and uplift those she touched. Her generous spirit, warm smile, and gentle wisdom will forever echo in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. As we celebrate the life of Janie G. Sanchez, we hold her memory dear, knowing that her love remains a guiding star in our lives.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Palmer Mortuary from 12pm to 1pm followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 1pm. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
