Obituary

Jesse Lee “Jess” Weinaug
January 19, 1941 – April 7, 2026

Jesse Lee “Jess” Weinaug, lifelong resident of Seguin, Texas, peacefully passed away at home on April 7, 2026. He was born January 19, 1941. Jess is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lucille; his sons Brian and Chad (wife Jessica); grandchildren Trevor (wife Sara and coming soon great grandson Owen Lee), Trinity, Brayden, Madalyn.

Jess served two years in the U.S. Army and worked for 32 years with CPS Energy. He loved life on the ranch — his happy place was sitting in his chair, waiting for the rain. He often told his grandchildren, “I’m not going to be here forever,” and encouraged them to learn and enjoy watching the grass grow and the cows eat. Jess shared something special with each grandchild: teaching the grandsons about country life (not everyone appreciated cow‑watching as much as Trevor), he loved to watch Brayden play football (more the snacking on popcorn), talking about grass and rain (and his disdain for huisache trees), and enjoying ice cream with Trinity and Madalyn.

He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.

The family will be celebrating Jess privately. In honor of Jess, the family would appreciate donations to be made to Gifted Hearts Hospice of Seguin.
