Jose "Tet" Cardenas

Seguin, Texas

Jose Cardenas, lovingly known as Tet, has left behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him. Born on January 20, 1961, in Nixon, Texas, he lived a life filled with passion, adventure, and a deep love for his family. On December 20, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones in Seguin, Texas, Jose peacefully passed away.

As a truck driver, Jose found great joy in traversing the roads and exploring the vast beauty of our country. He was extremely proud to have traveled to 48 states during his remarkable career. In his younger years, he worked in the fields, showcasing his work ethic and determination from an early age.

Jose was truly a jack of all trades. Whether it was fixing something around the house or lending a helping hand to a friend in need, he always rose to the occasion with unwavering energy and enthusiasm. Family time held immeasurable value for Jose; he relished every moment spent with his loved ones and made it a priority to create lasting memories.

In his leisure time, Jose enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Football and savoring the flavors of barbecuing with friends and family. His athleticism was unmistakable as he excelled not only as a boxer but also as a shortstop during his baseball days. These hobbies were not just pastimes for Jose but expressions of joy that brought him closer to those around him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Angelita (De Leon) Cardenas and Carlos Cardenas as well as numerous siblings; Jose now joins them in eternal peace. His absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved him dearly but also offers solace knowing that he is reunited with his loved ones once more.

Jose's remarkable spirit will live on through the memories shared by those he leaves behind. He leaves behind Yolanda Cardenas -his loving wife of 43 years. Their journey together was filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Their bond exemplified the true essence of marriage.

Jose's children, Joe Cardenas Jr. (Bianca), Veronica Johnson (Justin), Angelica Cardenas (Vincent Sevedra), Stacy Cardenas, Carlos Cardenas (Lisa), Zenon Cardenas (Jasmin Perales), Emilio Cardenas (Amanda), and Eric Cardenas were his pride and joy. He showered them with affection, guidance, and shared in their every triumph. Jose's devotion to his family knew no bounds, and he instilled in them the values of love, compassion, and resilience.

In addition to his children, Jose leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. Their laughter echoed through the hallways of his heart and provided countless moments of pure bliss.

Jose's cherished sisters, Felicita Morales, Sylvia Reyna, and Marie Salinas shared a bond with him. They embarked on a journey through life together, creating memories that will forever be treasured. His nieces, nephews, and extended family formed a vast network of support that offered comfort in both good times and bad.

Jose leaves imprints of love on every path he traveled. As we mourn his departure from this earthly plane, let us celebrate the tremendous impact he had on our lives. We will remember a remarkable soul whose spirit will never fade from our hearts. Though Jose may no longer be physically present among us, we take solace in knowing that his legacy lives on within each of us. May we carry forward the lessons he taught us about love, perseverance, and cherishing those closest to our hearts.
