Joseph "Jody" Alexander Barrientez, Sr., went to his heavenly home on Saturday, August 18, 2018. He was born in Seguin, Texas on November 20th, 1960 to Ramon and Mauricia (Soto) Barrientez.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Ramon and Mauricia Barrientez, sister: Ramona Villafranco, nephew: John Barrientez, and niece: Mary Lou Vasquez.
He is survived by his children: Joseph Alexander Barrientez Jr. (Shekinah), Daniel Barrientez, Amanda Barrientez (Benito), grandchildren: Cory Joseph Barrientez, Aliana Jaylen Martinez, siblings: Placido Barrientez, Angie Garcia (Jimmy), Margaret Garcia (Steve), Mary Jane Gonzales (Avelino), Martha Vasquez (Miguel), Mary Lou Vasquez (Eufemio), Flora Escalante (Jerry), Yolanda Rejino (Lupe), and companion: Lois Tijerina.
Jody was a man with many talents and loved to work with his hands. Throughout his life he picked up skills allowing him to work independently. He was a friend to most and a mentor to many. He loved to swim, draw, fish, and knew his way on the dance floor. He was proud of his loved ones and would help any way he could. He is loved and will be missed deeply.
Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. He will be honored with a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Friday, August 24th at 9:00 a.m. The rites of a Catholic Burial will follow at the San Geronimo Cemetery.
