Juan L. Manzur Jr., born on February 11, 1974, in Guadalupe County, Texas, passed away on October 3, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family in New Braunfels, Texas. Juan’s life was a tapestry of love, resilience, and a vibrant spirit that left an indelible mark on all those who knew him.
A caring and vibrant soul, Juan dedicated himself to his community, generously giving back by sharing the gift of life through his donation upon his passing. His vibrant personality was reflected in his unwavering love for his family and friends, creating a nurturing atmosphere wherever he went. Whether watching football games with his twin brother, Ramiro C. Manzur, or joyfully working on vehicles together, Juan thrived in the company of those he cherished.
Juan's passion extended beyond his family; he was also an avid runner, frequently taking part in 5K’s. His determination to push through challenges was evident even in his desire to participate in one last marathon, the Capital to Coast, renowned for its difficulty. Although he could not complete a final marathon, he remained a source of inspiration for his race buddies who honored him by running the final leg, a testament to his fighting spirit and the strong bonds he formed throughout his life. As 2 Timothy 4:7 states, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
He is survived by his loving twin brother, Ramiro C. Manzur, and his wife Marisa; his cherished children, Mason and Anissa Manzur; his devoted life companion, Tabitha Sapien; his treasured granddaughter, Maria Guadalupe Manzur; and his beloved niece, Janie Manzur. Juan’s legacy will also be cherished by his aunts, Maria Guadalupe C. Hughes and her husband Helmer, Dolores Lozano, and his uncle, Tomas V. Castellon Jr., along with a large circle of extended family and friends who were all touched by his warmth and kindness.
Juan is preceded in death by his devoted parents, Juan L. Manzur Sr. and Janie C. Manzur; grandparents, Marcela and Thomas Castellon and his aunt, Elida Campos. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him, a reminder of the enduring love and joy he brought to every moment. Juan will always be celebrated for his unwavering dedication to family, community, and the joy he found in life's simple pleasures.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Palmer Mortuary from 5pm to 8pm. The recitation of the Holy Rosary and sharing of words by the family will start at 6:30pm.
Viewing will continue on Saturday, October 18, 2025 starting at 8am at Palmer Mortuary. The chapel will dismiss at 9:30am and Mass will be celebrated at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. All services will conclude after mass and a private cremation will follow.
Pallbearers will be Robert Rangel, Ed Flores, Mario Garza, Myron Kizer, Aaron Sapien and Mason Manzur.
