Juanita McCallay McWhorter, age 87 of Seguin, Texas passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023. She was born on September 11, 1935 in Three Rivers, Texas. The daughter of Carl and Alice Lee McCallay of Seguin, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John McWhorter; son, Ricky Harbort; companion, David Hemby; brothers, Donald and Rodney McCallay; parents, Carl and Alice Lee McCallay.
She is survived by her brother, Floyd McCallay; daughter, Laura McFadden; daughter, Sherri Jones and husband Alan; son, Phil Harbort and wife Carrie; son, Chuck McWhorter and partner Mary Jane; daughter-in-law, Susan Harbort. Grandchildren, Keith McFadden and wife Tammy, Kevin McFadden, Travis Jones and wife Chelsea, Dylan Jones, Misty McWhorter and partner Andy, Natalie McWhorter, Cheyenne Terry and husband Kyle, Ryan Harbort, James Harbort and partner Natalie, Abby Harbort and fiancé Stefan along with many adored great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Juanita was a much beloved Mother, Nana and even Super Nana to many. She loved her family, friends, dog-HEB, flowers, plants and being outside in the sunshine. She will always be remembered as a loving, caring, kind mother and grandmother. The family has many cherished memories of time spent together that are priceless with endless stories they will be able to share with future generations.
A celebration of her life will be held at Palmer Mortuary on Monday, January 23, 2023. The chapel will open at 10:00 a.m. for viewing and the family will begin receiving condolences at 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery. All services will be officiated by Pastor Marcus Bigott.
The Celebration of Life will be livestreamed on this obituary page for those who cannot make it in person to be with the family.
