Julian Rodriguez Hernandez, age 62, of Seguin, Texas, passed away on February 23, 2026. Born on January 9, 1964, in Big Spring, Texas, Julian was a man who left a mark on everyone he met, larger than life, quick with a joke, and impossible to forget.
He is survived by his children, Latricia Hernandez, Ashley Hernandez, and Lewis Kizer (spouse Angela Kizer), his beloved grandchildren, Brayden Kizer, Victor Kretz, Kaydence Kretz, Makayla Kretz, Gage Kizer, Julian Hernandez III, Landon Hernandez, and a grandson on the way, whose arrival he was counting down the days for and was beyond excited to meet. He is also remembered by his siblings, Carol Villa, Patricia Arriaga, Viola H. Villa, Michelle Hernandez, Raymond Hernandez, Ricky Hernandez, and Benny Hernandez, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Julian was preceded in death by his son, Julian Hernandez Jr., his mother, Delia Hernandez, his father, Rudy Hernandez II, and his brothers, Rudy Hernandez III and Luis Hernandez.
A big man with a bigger personality, Julian loved to make people laugh, sometimes at their expense, and always had a witty remark ready. He adored his tiny 2-pound chihuahua, Sissy, who somehow ruled his heart more than anyone else. He loved fishing, grilling for whoever happened to be around, playing bingo, and the occasional trip to the casino. Life wasn’t always easy, and Julian wasn’t always easy, but those who really knew him saw his loyalty, his sharp humor, and his unique way of loving people.
Julian’s laugh, his playful teasing, and his love of life will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He had a way of leaving a story behind wherever he went, one you would laugh about, shake your head at, and smile about for years.
The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 9:30am to 1:00pm at Palmer Mortuary. The recitation of the Holy Rosary followed by a Catholic prayer service will begin at 1:00pm and will be officiated by Deacon Nick Carrillo. Interment will follow at Santo Tomas Cemetery.
