Leroy Long

Leroy Clifton Long passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the age of 90. He was born in Wichita Falls to Clifton Willard Long and Rhodela Pearl Palmer. Leroy was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ruth Long. They were married on August 3, 1946 and shared 70 wonderful years together.

He is survived by his children, Jimmy Long and wife Bernadette, Linda Luersen and husband Charlie, and Thomas W. Long; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Long was a long time member of McQueeney Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. Mr. Long loved riding his John Deere lawn mower and made a business of mowing lawns and landscaping work. He was a hard worker and loving family man. He treasured time spent with his family and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

Funeral services for Mr. Long will be held at 10am on Monday, December 4, 2017 at McQueeney Baptist Church. Pastor Dale Jones will be officiating and burial will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Palmer Mortuary and Cremations.
