Magdaleno Hernandez

Magdaleno "Leno" Hernandez passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at the age of 92. He was born in San Marcos, Texas to Victoriano and Dolores on October 3, 1924.

He was a long-time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Leonor M. Hernandez, parents, son, Jesse Villegas; brother, Fidencio Hernandez; sisters, Guadalupe Hernandez, and Victoria Machuca.

Survivors include his children, Eduardo Villegas; Raymond Hernandez and wife, Janie; Alice Villanueva and husband, Nick; Belia Herrera and husband, Louis, Jr.; Leonor "Junie" Koppold and husband, Chuck; Robert Hernandez and wife, Caroline; Mary Ellen Quintanilla and husband, Edward, Sr.; 14 grandchildren, Veronica San Miguel, Cecilia Gamboa, Sonya Hernandez, Chris Villanueva, Nic Villanueva, Deanne Herrera, Devan Herrera, Stefanie Herrera, Michele Nieto, Steven, Nieto, Melissa Hernandez, Michael P. Hernandez, Edward Quintanilla, Cameron Quintanilla, and Bianca Quintanilla; eight great-grandchildren, Gracen Rae Gamboa, Ashlynn Gamboa, Noemmy Villanueva, Izalea Villanueva, Ayden Montoya, Erika Nieto, Luke Antillon, Hendrix Quintanilla; and siblings, Gumecindo Hernandez, Juan Hernandez, Maria Rodriguez, Petra Reyes, and Felipa Montoya; and numerous family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at Palmers Mortuary Chapel on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the Holy Rosary to be recited by the Deacon Nick Carrillo at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (409 W. Krezdorn St., Seguin, TX 78155) on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Marcel Gamboa, Nic Villanueva, Tony Salazar, Steven Nieto, Edward Quintanilla, Jr., and Michael P. Hernandez.

The family wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Windsor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Cima Hospice for the support, kindness, and compassionate care given to Magdaleno in his final days.
