Marcelino Avalos

Marcelino Avalos, of Seguin, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the age of 86. He was born in in Seguin, Texas on April 26, 1932 to Juanita (Luera) and Pablo Avalos.

He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Raymundo Avalos.

Survivors include his wife: Gloria Rios Avalos, children: Frank Avalos, Mary Belmarez (Andrew), Sylvia Tovar (Jerrry), Lisa Diaz (Hector), Monica Avalos and Joe Avalos; grandchildren: Frank Avalos, Jr., Priscilla Avalos, Chris Onnen, Erica Estrella, Ruben Avalos, Daniel Gomez, Ashley Tovar, Christie Tovar, Hector Diaz, Jr., Christopher Diaz, Jasmine Diaz, Trisha Marie Tovar and Tiffany Tovar; and 31 great grandchildren.

Marcelino was a great provider for his family, he was an example of productiveness and taught his children the meaning of hard work. He was a loving and good father. Well known for his generosity, he would help anyone that needed a hand. His love of sports, especially baseball, urged him to volunteer his time, locally, as an umpire and wrestling promoter.

Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. (services will conclude at the church).
