Marie Calvert

Marie Calvert of Seguin, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019 at the age of 70. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 24, 1948 to Bennie Walpool and Birdie Mae Thomas Walpool.
Marie was loving wife, mother and grandmother and was known to be kind, nurturing and a down to earth spirit. She was an independent woman with a love for long road trips and visits to the casinos. She was kind, gentle and compassionate especially when it came to her community involvement with children. Marie was a Nurse Aide for 12 years at Seaton Medical Center in Austin, Texas. She will be deeply missed by all of those whose lives she touched.

Marie is preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Otis Calvert; daughter, Cozette Reed and sister, Jessie Lee Miller.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Maurice Dion Walpool, Markeec Montrel Henson and Wambovia and her husband Renor Mitchell; grandchildren, Al Reed Walpool, Cedric Maurice Reed, Christopher Lamont Hill, Ashley Reed, Jontera Shaw, Jason Reed, Jon Shaw II and 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Johnnie and his wife Betty Walpool of Shreveport, Louisiana, Nathaniel and wife Coreatta of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sisters, Aggie Meeks of Houston, Texas, Mary Walpool of Atlanta, Georgia and numerous other nieces nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church located at 926 8th St, Seguin, Texas 78155 on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 11:00 am a funeral procession will lead to the Interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with an arrival time of 2:30 p.m. in San Antonio, Texas.
