Obituary

Mario Ray Trigo, of Seguin, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 23, 2026. He was born in Nixon, Texas on November 30, 1963 to Manuela and George S. Trigo. 

Mario was a welder and a Gate operator technician with many other mastered skills. If you drove through Guadalupe County, chances are you passed a custom gate or ranch entrance or piece of ironwork shaped by his hands. He took pride in his work with strong welds, a smooth operating gate and a job done right the first time. He believed your name was on every bead you laid. He is known for his kindness, strength, unwavering commitment to those he loved, and his willingness to help others. His steady presence and generous spirit touched the lives of countless family members, friends, and neighbors. Mario was a devoted husband to Cristela a loving father to four children. His greatest joy was his family, and he took immense pride in watching his children and grandchildren grow. 

He was proceeded in death by his parents, George and Manuela Trigo and his brothers Larry Trigo, Lusio Trigo, and Armando Trigo. 

Mario is survived by his beloved wife, Cristela Trigo, his children, Gil Yzaguirre (Arielle Solcher) Eli Yzaguirre, Bianca Ashworth (Brandon) and Derek Trigo (Ashley Warden). He was a proud grandfather to Darren Yzaguirre, Gabriel Moehrig, Zoey Moehrig, Jayce Moehrig, Christopher Landreth, Jaelynn Yzaguirre, Giovanni Rodriguez and Anthony Rae Trigo. He is also survived by his siblings Ralph Trigo (Mary), Jesse Trigo, Alex Trigo (Alice), Mary Ann Ybarra, Mark Trigo (Cathy), Mary Alice DeLeon, Ernest Trigo(Maria Lina), Adolph Trigo and George Trigo Jr. along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. 

Throughout his life, Mario’s faith was a source of strength and comfort. Even during his illness, his courage and trust in God inspired everyone around him. His memory will live on through the family he cherished, the friendships he nurtured, and the many lives he touched through his compassion, wisdom and love. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, support and kindness shown during this difficult time. They ask that Mario be remembered not only for the loss felt in his passing, but for the love, faith, strength and joy he shared throughout his life. “Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.”

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Palmer Mortuary Chapel. A Funeral Service will be on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Palmer Mortuary Chapel processing at 11:30 a.m. to Mario Trigo Cemetery.
