Martha Long

Martha "Ruth" Long, of Mc Queeney, TX, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the age of 87. She was born on June 12, 1929 in Columbus, GA, to Agnes Adaline (Mc Cullough) and Joseph Randall Brown. She married Leroy Clifton Long on August 3, 1946.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include, her husband of 70 years, Leroy, her children, Jimmy Long and wife Bernadette, Linda Luersen and husband Charlie and Thomas Long; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Mc Queeney Baptist Church on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.

Ruth was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked as a Civil Servant for 28 years, at Randolph Air Force Base as a Produce Manager. She and her husband Leroy, were long time members of Mc Queeney Baptist Church. Ruth was very creative, she enjoyed creating floral arrangements, as well as making and wearing lots of jewelry. She also enjoyed reading the Bible, devotionals, and cookbooks, which she had a large collection of all.

Marth will be missed by those that knew and loved her.
