Martin “Pine” Herrera Sr., age 79, of Seguin, Texas, passed away on December 18, 2025, in Seguin. He was born and raised in Seguin, a place he proudly called home throughout his life.
A hardworking family man and devoted husband, Martin was known by many in the community through his long career as a butcher. Over the years, countless people came to know him during his time at Beinzeger’s Meat Market, where his skill, dedication, and friendly nature left a lasting impression. He later worked for the local school district for several years before returning to the work he loved most, being a butcher until his retirement.
The oldest of many siblings, Martin deeply valued family and remained closely connected to his brothers and sisters throughout his life. He often spoke fondly of the time he and his family lived on the ranch, cherishing the hard work, simplicity, and lifestyle that shaped who he became.
He was funny, kind, and dependable, someone others could always count on. He loved to cook and collected recipes, taking pride in preparing meals for those he cared about. A loyal sports fan, he never missed a chance to cheer on the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers, or the Houston Astros. He enjoyed classic country western movies and was a huge fan of Elvis Presley and The Beatles.
Known for always dressing to impress, Martin took pride in his appearance and carried himself with dignity and confidence. To his family, he was the strongest man they knew, a hero, a role model, and a steady presence whose love will never be forgotten.
