Mary G. Garcia, born on August 25, 1941, in Lincoln Township, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, in Seguin, Texas. A dedicated employee, Mary devoted 24 years of her working life to Tyson Foods, exemplifying a strong work ethic that was further reflected in her early years when she often held a second job to support her family.
Mary was not just a hard worker; she was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her commitment to her family was unwavering, as she cherished the moments spent with them, especially during the holidays. She took great joy in cooking for her loved ones, often being the last one to sit down after ensuring everyone was well-fed. Mary had a talent for capturing memories through photography, creating lasting images of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Beyond her roles in the family sphere, Mary was a woman of remarkable resilience. A breast cancer survivor since the early 1980s, she managed to maintain a household, work tirelessly, and nurture her family through adversity, serving as a pivotal example of strength for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her legacy is one of love, support, and the importance of family bonds as she also cared for her mother for many years till her mothers passing at 101 years of age.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Guillermo Garcia; her children, Cecelio Gonzales Jr. and wife Veronica, Susana Trinidad and husband Richard, Fernando Garcia and wife Laurie, Irma Garcia, and Yolanda Ybarra; and her grandchildren, including Mary Garza, Anitra Garcia, William Garcia, Manuel Cano and wife Priscilla, Nicole Trinidad and partner David, Lisa Cuestas and husband Rosendo, Richard Trinidad Jr. and wife Samantha, Albert Ybarra Jr., Daniel Trinidad and wife Krystl, Justin Gonzales, Isabella Gonzales and partner Edgar. She was a proud grandmother who enjoyed the company of her numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Dominga Garcia; and her siblings, Francisco Garcia, Abundio Garcia, and Annacleta Garcia.
Her vibrant spirit, passion for dancing, sewing, and attending garage sales and casinos with her husband enriched the lives of all who knew her, while her ability to lend an ear and offer advice made her a cherished confidante. Mary G. Garcia will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her unwavering love, boundless spirit, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of her family.
There will be a brief visitation for Mary on June 11, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Palmer Mortuary followed by a Rosary at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. led by Deacon Nick Carrillo. A mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. and interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.
