Mauricia Barrientez

Mauricia Soto Barrientez, "Mama Witcha," of Seguin, Texas has gone to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, March 14 at the age of 97. She was born in Cibolo, TX on March 2, 1921 to Jose and Elvira (Perez) Soto.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ramon Barrientez, daughter, Ramona Villafranco, grandchildren, Mary Lou Vasquez and John Barrientez, her parents, two brothers and three sisters.
She leaves behind her children, Angie Garcia (Jimmy), Margaret Garcia (Steve), Mary Jane Gonzales (Avelino), Martha Vasquez (Miguel), Mary Lou Vasquez (Eufemio), Flora Escalante (Jerry), Yolanda Rejino (Lupe), Joseph Barrientez (Lois) and Placido Barrientez, 34 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren.

Mauricia was a great, loving mother. A friend to those who need a friend, she fed those that were hungry and quenched the thirst of those that were thirsty. She leaves with us her talents of cutting hair, sewing and cooking. She was a great lady with a big heart.

The Family will receive visitors at Palmer Mortuary Chapel on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. She will be honored with a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. The rites of a Catholic Burial will follow at the San Geronimo Cemetery.
