Megan Lyn Monterastelli, born on April 24, 1992, in Oakland, California, passed away on October 6, 2025, in New Braunfels, Texas. She lived a life full of love, compassion, and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. Megan was a Registered Nurse in the Cath Lab at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, a profession that reflected her heartfelt commitment to caring for others. She took immense pride in her work and cultivated meaningful connections with her patients, who adored her as much as she cherished them. Her journey into nursing began with her educational pursuit, culminating in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) that laid the foundation for her fulfilling career.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Megan was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and friend. She embraced every role with enthusiasm and grace, sharing her vibrant spirit with family and friends alike. Megan's ability to bring laughter to those around her was a hallmark of her personality; she had a beautiful spirit that was evident from childhood.

Megan's adventurous side shone through in her early years when, at just four years old, she taught herself to ride a bike, showcasing her courage and willingness to try new things. Her love for the outdoors and music was evident as she often sought out trails and parks, immersing herself in nature’s beauty.

She is survived by her beloved children, Manuel (Manny) Garcia, Skyler and Kimber Monterastelli, husband Terryl Monterastelli, mother, Marie Valdes, and stepfather Mike Valdes; her father, Eric Hayes, and stepmother Jennifer Hayes; her sister, Candace Sparks; and brothers Eric, Brayden, and Carson Hayes. Megan also leaves behind her cherished nephews, Spencer and Rowan Hayes, as well as her grandfather Manuel Blasini, and her grandmother Bonnie Robles and her husband Leo Robles. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by a wide network of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  She will always have a special place with Emilio Chaveria.

Though Megan is preceded in death by her grandmother Jacqueline Blasini and grandfather Robert Wessel, her legacy continues through the deep connections she forged throughout her life. Being a mother, daughter, friend, and nurse were undoubtedly her proudest accomplishments. The warmth she exuded and the joy she brought to life will forever be remembered by those lucky enough to have known her.
