McQueeney, Texas

Mingo Contreras Sr., a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on November 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at home in McQueeney, Texas. Born on October 8, 1950, in Geronimo, Texas, Mingo lived a remarkable life full of love, adventure, and hard work.

Mingo was a jack of all trades who approached every task with dedication and determination. Whether it was working on his various projects or riding his motorcycle through scenic routes, he always put his heart and soul into everything he did. His work ethic served as an inspiration to those around him, leaving an indelible mark on the lives he touched.

One of Mingo's greatest joys in life was traveling. He had an adventurous spirit that took him to countless places he traveled to. From road trips with his wife to exploring new cities with his children and grandchildren, Mingo cherished the memories made during these adventures. His love for travel instilled a sense of wonder in those he traveled with and created lasting bonds within the family.

Above all else, Mingo's family held a special place in his heart. He adored his wife of 26 years, Sara Rangel Contreras, who stood beside him through thick and thin. Together they built a strong foundation for their family. Mingo is survived by his daughters Cynthia Contreras, Monica Contreras, Amelia Contreras; sons Jason Contreras and Justin Contreras; step-children, Cynthia Medrano, Stephanie Valle, Omar Valle; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His love for each of them knew no bounds; he cherished every moment spent together and valued the unbreakable bond they shared.

He joined his parents, Francisco and Christina Contreras as well as his son, Domingo Contreras Jr. in Our Lords Heavenly kingdom.

Although Mingo has departed from this world too soon, memories of him will forever be treasured by those who knew him best. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, determination, and a kind heart always willing to lend a helping hand. Mingo's warm smile, infectious laughter, and unwavering love will continue to inspire his family and friends for generations to come.

In moments of grief and loss, may we find solace in the memories we shared with Mingo.  His spirit will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
