Msgt. James Christy Jr., Usaf Ret.

MSgt. James “Jim” Ronald Christy Jr., USAF Ret. of Seguin, Texas entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the age of 84. He was born to James R. Christy Sr. and Thelma M. Campbell Christy on December 30, 1934.

James is preceded in death by both of his parents and his loving wife Enilda Christy.

He is survived by his children, James Albert Christy, Steven Lee Christy and Silvia DeLourdes Christy; his beloved furry companion Tami; sister, Patricia Christy Mills; aunt, Phyllis Bedsole; cousin, Nancy Baldwin; sister-in-law, Divia Abrego Perez; brother-in-law, Wilson and wife Ubaldina Abrego; nephews, Paul David and wife Cheryl Mills and son Joshua and grandson Mason, John and wife Kim Mills, Jurguen and wife Jennifer Abrego and children, Peyton, Isabela and Gavin, Jassin and wife April Abrego and daughters Piper and Emery; niece, Lariza and husband Scott Bayliss and children Kaileb and Kaiana; Dear friends, Jose, Rachel and Nathan Escobedo, Catalina McCrutcheon, Yolanda Iglesias, Lupe Rangel and Esmeralda Rangel.

James loved God, his family and his country which he served during the Vietnam War. He served his community as a volunteer at the Special Olympics, a firefighter at the Geronimo Volunteer Fire Department, a kitchen worker at Tree of Life Church or as a jack of all trades at the Geronimo VFW. James was usually a quiet and gentle man until he had something important to say. He was his special needs’ sons fierce advocate and his daughter’s greatest supporter. James was known for his kindness and for how much he cared for those he called friends. His wicked sense of humor and stubbornness were just two of his fine qualities. He will be missed and always loved “mucho grande.”

Interment will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in Committal Shelter #3.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Seguin Public Library, Special Olympics Texas and Veteran’s of Foreign Wars.
