Today we come to celebrate the life of Orlando “Big O” Gonzalez, a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 49. Born on October 6, 1976, Big O grew up in Seguin, Texas, where he graduated from Seguin High School.

Big O was a proud father to Peter A Morales Jr., Arianna A Gonzalez, Angelika N Gonzalez, Ariella M Gonzalez, Orlando Gonzalez Jr., and Kruz K Gonzalez. He was a cherished grandfather to Jeremiah K Morales, Tabias A Tristan, Everett K Tristan, Phoenixx R Tristan, Jamison D Perez, Tobias A Perez, Ellas R Perez, Davian L Gonzalez, Lorenzo A Barraza, and Leonardo O Barraza. A supportive father in law to Jacob D Perez, and Adrain A Barraza.

Orlando is survived by his parents Roman Gonzalez and Estela Ibarra, siblings, Maricela Zuniga and Blanca Garcia; his niece, Anna L Flores; his nephew, Victor M Garcia Jr; and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his grandchild Baby Barraza, and grandparents, Hilario Gonzalez, Juanita De los Santos, Miguel Ibarra and Dolores Villarreal.

Big O loved watching football and proudly supported the Oregon Ducks, Texas Rangers, Texas Longhorns and, most of all, the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed attending tejano music events, family dinners and outings. If he had any free time he was either at the park with his grandchildren or working on a vehicle with his dad.

Big O believed in staying positive, following his heart, and accepting people for who they are. He reminded others to enjoy life and share it with the people they love, often with a joke and perhaps a beer. Above all, he will be remembered for the way he showed up for others, giving his time, help, laughter, and heart freely. His family and friends will carry his memory in the stories they tell, the traditions they continue, the laughter he left behind, and the love he gave so generously.

Memorial Services honoring Orlando will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Palmer Mortuary from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
