Pastor Jose Armando Gonzalez Garcia, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and pastor, peacefully passed away on April 26, 2025, in Marion, Texas. Born on May 24, 1939, in Sabinas, Coahuila, Mexico his journey through life was one marked by service, resilience, and unwavering faith.
For decades, Pastor Jose dedicated his life to work, initially at Holly Farms and later as a foreman operator at Gutierrez Landfill. His career culminated in a rewarding position with the City of Marion, from which he retired with the respect of his colleagues. Yet, his true calling lay beyond the workplace. Since 1999, he served as the pastor of Casa del Alfarero Iglesia, sharing the gospel and enriching the lives of his church family. His deep commitment to sharing the word of God earned him affection and respect throughout the community, and he was known for helping countless individuals find hope and strength in their faith.
In recent years, Pastor Jose found joy in caring for animals at a small ranch on the outskirts of Marion, a testament to his gentle spirit and nurturing nature. For the past eight years, this passion reflected his connection to nature and his love for all of God's creatures.
Pastor Jose leaves behind his loving family, including his cherished children, Diana Estela Limones and her husband Enrique, Deyanira Aguilar and her husband Jose, David Gonzalez and his wife Mandy, Armando Rivera, Carmen McCoog and her husband Mike, Arturo Rivera and wife Alejandra and Alberto Rivera. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and a great-grandfather to sixteen great-grandchildren, each of whom will carry forward his legacy of love and kindness.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Maria Estela Moreno, and his second wife Belia Gonzalez. These losses were profound in his life, yet he drew strength from his faith and the love of his family and friends.
Pastor Jose Armando Gonzalez Garcia will be remembered not only for his pastoral leadership but also for the warmth he shared with all who knew him. Surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing, he leaves behind a legacy of devotion, faith, and unyielding love that will continue to inspire all whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace, enveloped in the love of his family and church community.
The viewing will be on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Palmer Mortuary from 4pm to 8pm with sharing of words at 6:30 p.m.
The viewing will continue Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Casa del Alfarero Church at 211 W. San Antonio St. Marion, Texas starting at 9 am. Funeral services will follow at 10 am and interment will be at Marion Cemetery.
