Raul Arispe Acuña, lovingly known as "Goose," passed away on November 20, 2024, at the age of 67. Born on April 17, 1957, in Seguin, Texas, he is remembered for his steadfast dedication to family and his remarkable spirit that brought joy to those around him.
Goose's personality was a vibrant tapestry woven from hard work, humor, and a heartfelt approach to life. He was the quintessential family man, always putting his loved ones first and embracing the role of the best grandpa to his grandchildren. His warm laughter and caring nature made him the life of the party, and he will be cherished for the countless memories he created with family and friends alike.
An avid outdoor enthusiast, Goose found great pleasure in playing catch with his grandkids and taking pride in his yard work and vehicles. His passion for detailing each car was a reflection of his meticulous nature and love for beautiful things in life. Family barbecues and gatherings will remain incomplete without his infectious laughter and charm.
Raul is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Alma Acuña; his loving children, Roland Acuña and Amy Carrasco; his son-in-law, Jorge Carrasco; and his cherished grandchildren, Danielle Acuña, Dominick Acuña, Emma Carrasco, Elianna Carrasco, Jorge Carrasco, Johnny Carrasco, and great-grandson Ethan Acuña. He is also survived by his siblings, Ofilia Mendez, Ester Solis, Oraila Ortiz, Robert Acuña, Eustolio Acuña Jr. (Mundo), Mark Acuña; his father-in-law, Refugio Sosa and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, including Joyce Acuña, Angela Acuña, Ray Sosa, Linda Sosa, Janie Gomez, and Delia Gonzalez, as well as Sergio Gonzalez, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Raul was preceded in death by his parents, Eustolio Acuña and Lilia Acuña; his sister, Sylvia Acuña; his brother-in-law, Rey Solis; his nephew, Ray Sosa III; his nephew, Jerry Sosa; and mother-in-law, Petra Sosa.
His proudest accomplishment—his family and grandchildren—will forever carry on his legacy. Goose's love for his family shaped their lives, and his spirit will continue to inspire them in the years to come. He leaves behind a rich legacy of love and laughter that will be honored and remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at Palmer Mortuary Chapel. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial following at San Geronimo Cemetery.
