Ricardo Herrera, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 17, 2026, one day before his 61st birthday. Born on July 18, 1965, Ricardo lived a life centered on faith, family, laughter, and love. He will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering devotion to those he loved, and the joy he brought to everyone around him.
Ricardo was a devoted husband to Carla Herrera and a loving father to Cassandra Ramon and her husband, Richard Ramon; Ricardo Herrera Jr. and his wife, Jessica Herrera; Angelica DeLeon and her husband, Max DeLeon; and Marina Herrera; 16 grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 6 step great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Hernandez and husband, David, Margie Uballe and husband, Joe, and Rose Herrera; brothers, Joe Herrera and wife, Brenda, Marcelino Herrera and wife, Olivido, Juanio Herrera; along with numerous nieces and nephews. And, of course, his beloved dog, Pluto. His family was his greatest blessing, and his love will continue to live on through them.
A man of strong faith, Ricardo loved going to church and singing. He had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed telling jokes, and could always make others smile. Known for always dressing to impress, he carried himself with confidence, kindness, and pride.
Ricardo was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Herrera and Juanita Herrera; his brother, Jesse Herrera; his grandson, Kaiser Herrera; his nephews, Jerry Sosa and Anthony Herrera; and his father-in-law, Cosme Cantu.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Palmer Mortuary & Cremations, 1116 N. Austin Street, Seguin, Texas 78155. A prayer service will follow from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
Ricardo's legacy of faith, love, laughter, and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
