Ronald Ray Klug, of Cibolo, Texas, passed away on January 30, 2026, at Silver Tree Rehabilitation, at the age of 72.

Ronald was born on March 5, 1953, in San Antonio, Texas, to Harold and Shirley Klug. He was a graduate of Judson High School, Class of 1971. Following graduation, Ronald began his working career at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, where he was employed until 1977. He later went on to serve the City of Kirby as a dispatcher, dedicating 32 years of loyal service to the community.

Upon his retirement, the City of Kirby honored Ronald’s commitment and legacy by naming the Emergency Communications Center the Ronald R. Klug Communication Center—a tribute that reflected the respect and appreciation he earned throughout his career.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Ronald later chose to move into assisted living, where he was able to enjoy a carefree life, living independently and on his own terms.

Ronald was known for his dedication, generosity, and quiet sense of humor. He deeply valued his family and cherished time spent with those he loved. When he wasn’t working, Ronald delighted in spoiling his nieces and nephews with memorable outings to places like McCreless Mall—often including dinner at Luby’s and a movie—as well as trips to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and SeaWorld.

His passions included visits to Radio Shack, Montgomery Ward, and Sears, and he enjoyed spending time away from work with trips to Rockport, Calaveras Lake, and Canyon Lake. Ronald also had a fondness for collecting stereos, police and fire scanners, CDs, DVDs, and faithfully playing the lottery on a weekly basis.

Ronald is survived by his brother, Donald Klug and wife Karen, and their children Kenneth and Anna Klug; Lori and Nick Staton; sister-in-law Delanie Klug and her children Colby and Sharee DeFriese, Jason and Katherine Klug; brother-in-law Joe Alderete and children Kenneth and Suzanne Shiroky; Michael Klug; and Nathan Alderete.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Shirley Klug; his brother, Edgar Klug; and his sister, Brenda Alderete.

Ronald will be remembered for his devotion to his work, his love for family, and the simple joys that brought him happiness throughout his life.

Though his journey has ended, Ronald will be remembered for living life on his own terms, finding joy in the little things, and sharing a love that will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends. The memories he leaves behind will continue to bring smiles for years to come.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Palmer Mortuary from 9am to 10am. A prayer service will begin at 10am and interment will follow at the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in St. Hedwig, Texas.
