Ruben Castellanos

Ruben R. Castellanos, of Seguin, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at the age of 65. He was born in Seguin, Texas to Manuel, Sr. and Adela Castellanos on October 14, 1950.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Oswald Castellanos, Sr. and wife Cecilia, brother, Gilbert Castellanos as well as sister-n-law, Sylvia D. Castellanos.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia C. Castellanos; children, Joseph Ruben Castellanos and wife Veronica, Elizabeth B. Castellanos and husband Abel Acuna; brothers, Manuel Castellanos, Jr. and Ada, Arturo Castellanos and Maria Guadalupe; Robert Castellanos; sister, Betty Vega and Eusebio , Jr.; sister-n-law, Alicia R. Castellanos; grandchildren, Leanna Castellanos, Ashley Castellanos, Jeremy Acuna, Angelina McBride, Caitlyn Acuna, Risa Alvarado, Aliana Garcia, Jonathan Acuna and Joseph Ruben Castellanos, Jr.; great grandchildren, Avalyn Nevaeh Salas and Juliana Nicole Alvarez.
Ruben loved fishing, camping, going to Corpus Christi and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. His first job was with Dagel Furniture Manufacturing Company as an upholsterer, a talent which he inherited from his father and continued to use throughout his whole life. He worked for over 20 years at Tyson. He worked at K-mart and also at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center.
Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel (Danny) Castellanos, Richard Castellanos, Jason Castellanos, Eric Castellanos, Cundo Carrillo, and Ernest Garza.

A Visitation will be held at Palmer Mortuary on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 5:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary to be recited by Deacon Nick Carrillo at 7:00 p.m.
A mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.
