Ruben Contreras

Ruben "Rocky" Contreras, of Seguin, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the age of 80. He was born in San Marcos, Texas on October 25, 1936 to Mauricio and Petra (Lucio) Contreras.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife of many years, Kathy, son, Carl Rocky Contreras and wife Delia, grandchildren, Carlos, Elan, Kierdis and Chaylyne Contreras; siblings, Richard, Edward, Mary and Alice; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Many knew Rocky for owning Rocky's Drive In Convenience Store and the Barber Shop next door. In his younger years he was a boxer and was a Golden Gloves winner. He also served the Seguin community as a City Council Member and more importantly he served his country and was a proud veteran, as a US Marine.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 9:30 a.m., with a Burial to follow at Santo Tomas Cemetery.
