Virginia “Ángel” Salazar, a bright light in our lives, cherished sister and aunt, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, at the age of 95. Though she never married or had children, her influence on family and friends was immeasurable.
Virginia lived a life of love, generosity, and kindness. She had always put the needs of others before her own. When she was only a young child, she lost her hearing to Scarlet fever. She didn’t want to feel that she was a burden to anyone, so she devoted her entire life to the care and service of others.
She was a devout catholic, serving as Hija de Maria and an avid gardener. Her passion in all things, brought joy to all who knew her.
Virginia leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, nurtured through countless acts of service and unwavering support. She will be deeply missed by her only living brother, Ramon Salazar Jr. and sister-in-law, Rachel Salazar, nephews; Ramon Salazar III, Christopher Salazar (Ida Salazar), Gabriel Salazar (Hanna Salazar), Daniel Rios, Rudy Salazar (Stella Salazar), Mario Salazar, Jose Angel Salazar. Nieces,; Rebecca Erben (Justin Erben), Connie Gueits (Antonio Gueits), Rosita Rocha (Mario Rocha), many great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Ramon Salazar Sr. and Enriqueta Salazar. Sister, Pauline Rios, and brothers Enrique De La Luz Salazar, Rudy Salazar Sr and nephew Rafael Salazar.
The viewing for Virginia will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 1pm to 2pm. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 2pm and Mass will follow at 2:30 pm. A funeral procession will depart to Santo Tomas Cemetery where Virginia will be laid to rest.
A livestream of the Holy Rosary and Mass will be available within Virginia’s obituary page for those family and friends who cannot make it in person to be with the family.
Serving all pallbearers will be Joshua Erben, Christopher Arriaga, Josiah Salazar, Jeremiah Rios, Marcos Gueits and Rudy Salazar Jr.
