Virginia "Vickie" Ramos

Virginia “Vickie” Ramos gained her Angel Wings on August 3, 2022, at the age of 80. She was born on March 11, 1942, to Abelardo Lopez Solis and Virginia (Saldua) Solis in Seguin, Texas.

Vickie was born in Seguin Texas in 1942. She was the oldest of three sisters and two brothers. She married Jesse Ramos, Sr.  In 1959 they had two children, Kathy and Jesse Jr.  Vickie was a well-known beautician in Seguin. She owned and operated Vickie’s Style House for many years. After the loss of her beloved husband, she changed careers and became a detention officer for Guadalupe County where she retired after 10 years of service.  In Vickie’s early years, she enjoyed dancing, playing and coaching softball, and playing pool. Vickie loved spending time with her family and friends. She always knew how to brighten someone’s day. She was a real honest and true friend from the heart. Vickie was loved by many and will be missed.

She is preceded in death by husband, Jesse Ramos Sr., her mother and father and her brother, Reynaldo "Rey" Solis.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Kathy Salinas and husband Louie Salinas and her son, Jesse Ramos Jr.; grandchildren, Bianca Patterson and husband Drew Patterson and Hilary Salinas; great-grandchildren, Jessie Athas, Mason Santos and Ayden Patterson; her brother and sisters, Abelardo Solis Jr. and wife Jerry Solis, Carmen Bueno and husband Vicente “Porky” Bueno, Dolores “Lola” Copado and Guadalupe “Lupe” Robles as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ysmael Ramos, Vicente “Porky” Bueno, Rene Solis, David Gonzales, Drew Patterson, and Ayden Patterson. Honorary Pallbearer will be Mason Santos.

Visitation will be at Palmer Mortuary on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment of Mrs. Ramos' cremated remains will be on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery with Deacon Nick Carrillo officiating the graveside service.
