Angelita Montoya

Angelita Rivas Montoya was called home to the Lord on June 28, 2022, at the age of 88. She was born on August 30, 1933, to Simona Soto Rivas and Andres Rivas in Geronimo, Texas. She married her loving husband Manuel Montoya and moved to Lubbock, Texas. She recently moved back to San Marcos, Texas

Angelita is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Manuel Montoya; son, Ramon Rivas Montoya; brother, Joe Rivas; sister, Clara Rivas Ramon; and her brother-in-law, Pedro Ramon Sr.

She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Rivas Montoya; brother, Jose (Shemo) M. Rivas; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; her loving five puppies and two birds; as well as numerous other family and friends.

Angelita was a very caring, sweet, and soft-spoken woman who was a loving mother, aunt, and great aunt. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Palmer Mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery in Geronimo, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers will be Pedro Ramon Jr., Louis Ramon Sr., Brian Canet, Eric Canet, Rogelio Rojas, and Preston Simmons Jr.
