Obituary

Celestino Renay Cantu was called to be with the Lord on February 14, 2020 at the age of 18. Celestino, was a loving son, to Kristina Marie Cantu and was raised as his own by John Collins. He was born on September 11, 2001 in Seguin, Texas.

He is survived by his parents, Kristina and John Collins; his grandparents, SGM Aurelio and Ernestina Medina; paternal grandmother, Veronica Guttierez; grandfather, Archie Collins; paternal grandfather, Manuel B. Cantu; paternal grandmother, Lucy Cantu; his brothers and sisters, Carlos, Anastazia, Aidan, Karizma Cantu, Juan "JJ" Medina-Cantu; his aunts, Valerie and Justine; his uncles and aunts in the Estrada, Leal, Medina and Cantu families. Celestino is further survived by many cousins, family, and friends.

Celestino was the second of six children and lived in Seguin, Texas most of his life. He was a senior at Seguin High School and worked fulltime while still going to high school to graduate early. He had a goofy and humorous personality, a true jack of all trades. His extracurricular activities included FFA, livestock judging. He also played football his first two years, enjoyed welding and was also a member of the National Junior Honor Society during his middle school years. His contribution of humor, protection and income will be greatly missed. He had been visiting colleges recently; we just found out he would have had the finances to attend. He would have broken the stereotypes of economically disadvantaged youth making it out of their tough situations. He was truly an amazing young man with a promising future that we always prayed for as he was growing up. He overcame so much in his young life and had already exceeded expectations. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends but his legacy will be kept alive by all of those whose lives he impacted.

As per the request of Celestino's family all services will remain private and for family only, thank you for understanding.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations to the Welding Program at Seguin High School in his name.
